Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical compound. As nicotine enters your body, it is distributed quickly through the bloodstream and reaches the brain within 10-20 seconds of inhalation. The immediate effects on your body are a rapid heartbeat, an increase in blood pressure and shallow breathing. Nicotine is also found in smoking tobacco. Tobacco is the single greatest cause of preventable death worldwide. Tobacco leads to diseases affecting the heart and lungs, with smoking begin a major risk factor for strokes, heart attacks, COPD, emphysema and cancer. Smoking over time also leads to high blood pressure. Furthermore, smoking depletes your oxygen level and causes wrinkled , yellowing skin, dry hair and nails and yellow teeth. So then I ask you, are smokeless cigarettes safe compared to the dangers smoking tobacco can cause?
Are Smokeless Cigarettes Safe According to the FDA?
The question, are smokeless cigarettes safe according to the FDA, has yet to be definitively answered. The FDA has expressed concerns about smokeless cigarettes in regards to claiming they help people quit smoking but have taken no action to ban the product. Their fear is that smokeless cigarettes will increase addiction among young people and ultimately lead kids to try conventional cigarettes. While I agree the efforts being made to prevent teenage smoking are important and much needed, I do not believe these smokeless cigarettes will encourage smoking among the young. What it will do is give a safer option for those of us who want to badly to quit smoking but just can’t. My quality of life has improved 200% in the last 5 years and it’s due in part to smokeless cigarettes. Are smokeless cigarettes healthy? No. Are smokeless cigarettes safe? I say absolutely, yes!
